We have dropped out of hyperspace unexpectedly. The ship’s systems indicate a sudden loss of hyperspace function. We appear to be in orbit around an uncharted planet. There are numerous ships and debris in orbit, but no active signals or communications. The planet’s surface is obscured by thick clouds.

HYPERDRIVE STATUS:

• Complete loss of hyperspace function at 2254 hours
• Bear is concerned that pushing the hyperdrive further could cause catastrophic failure. I agree with this assessment.
• Quincy is running diagnostics but has not found any clear cause.

We’ve identified a derelict ship in orbit. We have hailed it, but have not received any response besides an automatic signature identifying the ship as The Alexis. Life support systems are active, but there are no signs of life that we’ve been able to detect. Quincy is prepping an airlock connection to board the Alexis and investigate.
