We have made contact with another group of inhabitants of the moon. Quincy has made radio communication with a 13 year old boy named Arthur, who was manning the comms for this group. Arthur said that they have been stranded on this moon for 9 years, 10 months, and 6 days. He says that they have run out of food, and have begun the process of “giving unto” themselves. He says that their leader, Malta, has “given” the most, amongst their society. He says that they would welcome us into their society, but that we would have to “give” as well. I am not sure what this means, but it is concerning. We will continue to monitor the situation and gather more information about the moon and its inhabitants.

Arthur said that one of their number, a boy named Dean, has been put in jail for “fomenting riots.” He says that Dean wants to go down to the planet, having seen a new ship, The Defiance, land there in recent days. According to Malta, the planet is not safe. I am not sure what that means, but it is concerning. We will continue to monitor the situation and gather more information about the planet and its inhabitants as well.

I have conferred with the crew and we have decided to leave the moon and make our way to the planet’s surface.
